Why we make on demand

Every clothing brand has a supply chain problem. Ours is different.

Most brands guess how many units to make, then spend six months hoping the guess was right. Too many units: clearance. Too few: sold out, backorder, disappointed buyers.

We chose a different path. Every Lorn piece is made when you order it. That means:

• No clearance. No surplus. No compromised quality to hit a volume price.
• Limited runs that stay limited. When a piece sells out, it stays sold out.
• Lower risk at launch — which means more budget for what actually matters: material quality and brand.

The practical tradeoff is delivery time. Made-on-demand pieces ship in 5–10 days, not overnight. We think that's a fair trade for a garment that was made for you, not pulled from a warehouse of pre-made units.

We are not alone in this approach. The best indie brands in the basics space started here and scaled up. We will too, when the demand is there. For now, every piece you buy from Lorn was made because you ordered it.
